You already have a personal brand. Are you making the most out of it?

What are you passionate about? Are you clear on what makes you stand out from the crowd?

This week we brought together a group of like-minded women from the BioPharma industry to focus on their personal brands; what makes them stand out. Although this was the 5th WBL event we have hosted to date, Wednesday marked our first virtual gathering.

Regardless of whether your interactions are face to face or through an online platform, managing your personal brand and ensuring that it is a true and authentic representation of who you are is hugely important when looking to achieve your personal goals as a leader.

Your personal brand is more than just your job description, it’s the unique combination of skills and experience that make you who you are; it’s what differentiates you from the crowd.

Whether we realise it or not, we all already have a personal brand; but not all of us have developed it to be a strength yet.

Jeff Bezos is famously quoted as saying “your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” But are you clear on what that is? Do you know what you want people to recognise you for?

We recommend asking yourself these 3 questions:

  • What are you passionate about?
  • What makes you stand-out from the crowd?
  • Who are you trying to appeal to at the moment?

Use these answers to help define your personal brand mission, your 60-second elevator pitch, and use this to promote your personal brand to its full potential.

As long as your personal brand is an authentic representation of who you are and what you stand for, it is within your power to guide what people say about you when you’re not in the room.

If this is a topic you would like to discuss further or you would like to hear about any of our future events, please do get in touch or join our WBL group on LinkedIn.

We run these events in partnership with Links Life Sciences and Maria Hall Consulting.
